Meet the team · Careers
Great journeys.
Even better people.
Expert guides. Professional drivers. A warm welcome at every stop. Meet the people behind Shakespeare Coaches—and discover where you could fit in.
As new routes open across London, the South of England and the Midlands, we’re always keen to hear from people who can turn a day out into a day to remember.
The people make the difference
A knowledgeable team.
A personal approach.
At Shakespeare Coaches, a great tour starts with the people looking after you. Our guides share the stories behind the places we visit, our drivers make every journey comfortable, and our team keeps the day running smoothly.
Our expert tour guides
Curious, engaging and full of local knowledge. They make history approachable, answer the questions you’ve been saving up and help you see beyond the postcard.
Our professional drivers
Steady hands, thoughtful service and pride in the vehicle. They focus on safe travel, a friendly welcome and the small details that make guests feel looked after.
Our team behind the scenes
From the first enquiry to the final drop-off, they help coordinate bookings, pickups and practical arrangements so guests can enjoy their day.
Different skills, one shared standard: look after our guests, look after each other and take pride in every tour.
Could this be you?
Good with people?
Love being on the move?
We’re looking for drivers, driver-guides and tour guides who bring warmth, initiative and excellent customer service. Tourism, hospitality, transport or customer-facing experience can all be valuable.
You don’t have to know every date in a history book. You do need to care about people and be willing to learn the routes and stories you’ll share.
You make people feel welcome
You enjoy meeting visitors from different countries and make each guest feel included.
You communicate with confidence
You speak clear English, listen well and explain information in an engaging way.
You’re curious about places
You enjoy local stories, landscapes and heritage—and want to keep learning.
You keep your cool
Traffic, weather or a late guest? You respond calmly and make practical decisions.
You’re reliable and organised
You arrive prepared, keep track of the day and communicate clearly with the team.
You take safety seriously
You put passenger comfort first and never let the schedule compromise safe working.
Find your place
One team. Different ways to join.
Tell us which role interests you, where you’re based and when you’re available. We welcome enquiries throughout the year as our tour programme grows.

Do I need previous tour-guiding experience?
It helps, but we’re also interested in strong communicators from hospitality, customer service, teaching and other people-facing backgrounds. Tell us about the skills you would bring.
Can I apply if I’m a driver rather than a guide?
Yes. We welcome enquiries from professional drivers as well as people interested in combining driving and guiding.
What licence do I need?
Commercial minibus driving roles require suitable full D1 or D entitlement and current Driver CPC. Larger passenger vehicles require Category D. A non-driving tour guide role does not require a PCV licence.
What about pay, hours and start dates?
These depend on the role and operational needs. Share your availability and preferred area so we can discuss suitable employed opportunities and their terms.
